Day 4: Coffee
Yup! I went there because as every writer knows coffee is what makes the sun rise in the morning, the moon rise at night, the muse flow, and the writers’ block monsters crawl back into their shadows under the bed. This is the sustenance of world-builders. It’s the energy drink of plot bombers. It’s the drug of character interactions and we hail to it eagerly. :p
More importantly, though, coffee is my comfort food. (Yeah, I’m weird, it’s okay.) Coffee is that thing that I go to when I’m having a bad day and just need something sweet to brighten everything up. Of course, you probably guessed by now that I drink my coffee with enough cream to turn that mud the color of snow-capped mountains. Haha! Even so, I love it, I crave it, I bow to it. In fact, my body attacks me if I don’t drink it every day by a certain time and as such I am forced to worship it like a God.
In that regard it’s a good thing I’m capable of drinking caffeine at any time of day without fault. Seriously, I used to go on midnight coffee runs with my college roommate and then we’d go to sleep once the coffee was gone. Coffee has an adverse effect on me. It doesn’t wake me up. It puts me to sleep… >.> Even so I’m still exceptionally grateful for the magnificent drink- drug- poison that is coffee! Wait… that came out wrong…
Caffeine is my best friend. I only have one, maybe two cups of coffee a day but the comfort I feel in those 20 minutes that I am sipping away on that cup is the most wonderful feeling. Everything is just right in the world in those precious moments ☕️ It is my me time 💕
