Flash Fiction Friday: Mirror

Mirror, Mirror, on the wall…

Like spiderwebs they trickled, sparking every which way until the once solid piece shattered into thousands. My twins stared back at me. Each one reflected my horror-struck face with bulging eyes, parted lips, and skin drained of color.

This couldn’t be happening. Of all things malevolent… why this?

Falling, the shards sublimed to vapor. Slender fingers melted from it, clenching my throat and cutting off my air. A vicious laugh sliced the air.

“Enjoy bad luck, do you, deary?” Her ruby-red lips weaved a sadistic smile, while her silver eyes danced and gleamed wickedly.
