Today is the last day of my Month of Thanks, which has been a great way for me to truly stop and think about all the things that I’m grateful for. Even with this being the end, I will not stop being grateful. There are so many things to be grateful for and thirty days is hardly enough to recognize them all.
It’s important to remember that one doesn’t need a day, a month, or a holiday to be thankful for the wonders that are in their lives, both big and small. We can remember all the things we have and think about how lucky we are to have each and every one of them. With that being said, here’s what I’m thankful for.
Day 30: Sun
I don’t say this very often, but I’m extremely grateful for the sun. There are days when I’m not, days when I’d much rather it thunderstorm and rain, but I am truly thankful for the sun because if it weren’t for the sun almost nothing on Earth would exist. There wouldn’t be any plants because they require sunlight for photosynthesis. There wouldn’t be any heat and we’d be forced to live in the coldest ice age we’ve ever seen. More importantly, everyone would be depressed. Sunlight increases serotonin production, which makes people happy and who doesn’t want to be happy? So, for that reason (and many more) I’m grateful for the sun and the life that it provides us here on Earth!
