2.0 Reading Challenges 2016

Bea’s Book Nook is hosting the 2016 FINISHING THE SERIES READING CHALLENGE SIGN UP, which is exactly how it’s called: finishing series in 2016. ^.^ Below is a list of book series I’ve started that I would like to finish next year. Let’s see how this goes. :p

Series to Finish

The 100 by Kass Morgan:
3 total – 2 read = 1 to-go

If I Stay by Gayle Forman:
2 total – 1 read = 1 to-go

A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin:
5 books – 1 read = 4 to-go

The Giver by Lois Lowry:
4 books – 2 read = 2 to-go

Uglies by Scott Westerfeld:
4 books – 2 read = 2 to-go

1 + 1 + 4 + 2 + 2 = 10 books

That’s ten books for this challenge and I’m lucky enough that a couple of these will crossover into my other reading challenges for 2016. Yay for doubles! :p

I just found out about this reading challenge today and I just couldn’t stop myself from adding it because of the fact that I know I’ll be reading lots of fantasy this next year! Flights of Fantasy Reading Challenge is hosted by Hello ChellyAlexa Loves Books.

For this particular challenge, I have a lot of books listed on my Goodreads List: 2016 Fantasy Challenge. However, I’m thinking I will likely get around to reading 10 fantasy books next year. That’s my goal! Can I do it?

Additionally, I will be participating in 2016 Goodreads Reading Challenge whenever they post it up. :p I did a pretty good job with reading about 3 books a month these past few months and I would like to keep that up.

Though, I will be spending quite a bit of time being a critique partner(CP) for my amazing writer friends Nicolette, Breeanna, Natalie, Lucy, Ashley, and Eve. That being said, I think I’ll set me total number of books to read in 2016 at 30 books.

    1. Oh! Haha! It wasn’t a tag. More of shout-out, but I’d be more than happy to have you join me in the series challenge. OO! Let me know when you read Delirium! I loved it. ^.^ I just got my first Throne of Glass book from a Secret Santa, but it may be a while before I read it. >.>

  2. I haven’t signed up to do any challenges at the moment, but you’re definitely tempting me! I’m not sure I’ll have time, though, due to my writing goals and a professional certification exam I want to pass. I’m excited to be a critique partner for you, though! 😀 😀 😀

    1. Tell me about it. Lots of other commitments are really going to cut down my writing time. :/ But that’ll all be worth it. There were so many other reading challenges I wanted to participate in. I had to pick and choose.

Very excited to be CPs as well! ^.^

  3. I avoid challenges because I find myself stressed to meet them, and even more stressed, if I don’t meet them. When I get stressed, I get creative blackouts. So no stress for this girl with any challenges. Having said that, I hope you meet your challenges in 2016. Happy New Year by the way, I hope it brings you everything you wish for and more.

    1. Thank you, Aura! ^.^ Happy New Year to you, as well.
And I completely understand the stress, but I like these particular reading challenges I’ve chosen because they’re not a single goal: there’s levels. It’s nice. ^.^ I also like them because it allows me to get involved with other readers/book reviewers. Though, goodness knows I’ll probably bomb all of these. Haha!

  4. Hurray for all the exciting fantasy reads you have in store for you next year! Westerfeld’s Uglies is definitely on my list. So. . . it isn’t my imagination–I haven’t been able to find the Goodreads 2016 challenge either. It’s getting pretty close to 2016, Goodreads, better get on it. Speaking of beta critiquing for each other, I’m halfway through your novel and really digging the story, you talented writer you.

    1. Yay fantasy reads! I haven’t read nearly enough fantasy in the past few years, having been gobbled up by dystopians (obviously since I write them :p), but I’m really looking forward to it. Fantasy was what originally got me into writing umteen years ago and it’s about time I get back to my roots!
Are you participating in any 2016 reading challenges outside of Goodreads? (And I totally searched for that thing for a while. They’re being lame… -.-)

Woah! Halfway! Already?! 0.0 *bites nails in anticipation*
