Bath and Body Works Book Tag

bathnbodyworksOnce again, the nuisance known as Nicolette over  @ A Little Bookish, A Little Writerly has tagged for yet ANOTHER book tag. :p Just kidding! These are fun and I love passing on the fun to others. So long as she doesn’t swamp me again like she did in December, it’s all good. :p

Pure Paradise – A book that was pure perfection

Bath1Wow. A book that is pure perfection? I can’t say that I really have a book that fits into this category… I love books and I’ve found that I love A LOT, but I can’t say any of them were perfection. Sorry… But I don’t have a book for this category.  What can I say? I’m picky. :p

Sweet Pea – A romance/contemporary you really enjoyed

Bath2Alright. I kind of fail this one. :/ I don’t read much in the area of contemporary and romance bores the goodness out of me. However, I was so in love with the movie that I just had to read the book, IF I STAY by Gayle Forman. And as reading outside of my genre goes, this was an amazing read. I, personally, was able to connect with Mia so well that I was able to immerse myself in the book. It was like knowing her to be a real person. That’s what I loved about this. To see more about why I love this book, check out my review.

Fresh Strawberries – A book you really enjoyed that came out this year

Bath3All the books I’ve read this year have come out in previous years, which makes this particular category limited. However, one book, which I have gushed about over and over again, is GAMBIT by C. L. Denault. This book is just awesome! I loved it! I fell into the story, believed the characters, loved the author utilized but did give emphasis to cliches of the genre. It was such an awesome book. I can’t wait for the sequel! For more about why I love this book, check out my review.

Warm Vanilla – A character and/or book that made you feel all warm inside

Bath4I don’t even know what this means… o.0 A book that makes me feel warm inside? Like the warm fuzzies? I’m not sure I ever feel that way about a book. (Then again, I probably don’t read the right style of book for this.) However remembering all the books I read as a child I came across THREE LITTLE KITTENS, which is the most ADORABLE story ever (and I love cats. :p)

Paris Amour – A couple you majorly ship together

Bath5I’ve probably said this in at least a dozen posts already on this blog, but I totally, completely, and wholeheartedly ship BELLARKE from THE 100 by Kass Morgan. (I’m ship them more in the show than the book, but…) The tension between them is ten times more evident in the show and EVERYONE knows they want to be together, but they never let themselves be together. I LOVE this kind of chemistry. It’s for this reason that part of me doesn’t want them to end up together in season three, but that’s also because I love the tension more than the gratification of them being together. :p

Dancing Waters – A book that takes place on the beach/ the perfect beach read

Bath6I’m not sure if DELIRIUM by Lauren Oliver is a ‘perfect beach’ read, nor does it solely take place on a beach, but it does take place in Portland, Maine, and quite a few scenes do take place on the beach. Additionally, I love this book. I love the concept. I love the writing style. I love the characters and the suspense. It’s such an amazing book all around and even if the beach isn’t warm and sunny in the book, it’s still a great book to read at the beach.

I Heart Cake (and Books) – your favorite book

Bath7My favorite book is more a compilation of stories, but I absolutely adore it. DIE KINDER- UND HAUSMAERCHEN by der Brueder Grimm. Now, I know probably none of you speak German, which makes this book pretty much irrelevant, but I LOVE this book! This is a compilation of the original, dark, twisted stories by the Brothers Grimm. My favorite part: It’s in German! ^.^ I’m still in the process of reading through the whole thing (it’s quite big), but I love it so much!

Winter Candy Apple – A book set during Christmas or winter

Bath8Wow. This was a really difficult category, to be honest. I couldn’t think of very many for this and had to scrounge around, but I manage to find THE LION, THE WITCH, AND THE WARDROBE, which is a tale very near and dear to my heart because I read it when I was younger (the whole Chronicles of Narnia in fact). Additionally, this is one series that I love. I have fond memories of reading it and will definitely have to buy my own set some day. (Apparently, the set I read was my brother’s. Oops! :p)

Beautiful Day – A book with an unusual / interesting / appealing setting

Bath9One book that had an amazing and fantastical setting was ALICE TAKES BACK WONDERLAND by David D. Hammons. Based on the title, we can obviously assume that Wonderland is involved. However, the book gives such descriptive detail of the land that it’s easy to picture and even easier to disappear into. Needless to say the world-building in this book was amazing! I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an awesome world to fall into. For more about why I love this book, check out my review.

Dazzling Diamonds – A beautiful cover

Bath10Alright. This book is one that I read quite a few years ago (like almost a decade ago now), but I still absolutely LOVE the cover. It’s so bright, so eye-catching. It, also, really embodies the story. So, it’s perfect. Plus, it has one of my favorite colors in bright and many shades: Green. ^.^ Lastly, I just think that the artwork for this cover is awesome! It’s so beautiful.
