Japanese Food: Attempting S’mores

Itadakimasu!

S’mores

Haha! You’re right. They’re not s’mores. A little disappointed? Yes, I was, but what can one expect from a prepackaged cookie? Nonetheless, it was delicious even if not quite the s’more we Americans would think of: warm, gooey, melting goodness. However, this sure does look like an attempt at making s’mores, doesn’t it?

Well, it’s not. This s’more has no chocolate and is neither warm nor gooey. Instead, these cookie sandwiches are soft frosting dabbed into small dots between two graham-like crackers. Not quite s’mores, but Sugar Butter Tree makes a good cookie nonetheless.

Gochisousama!
