Discussion Highlights: Binge Writing

Last Week’s Discussion:
Binge Writing

In honor (or memory because I’m failing so bad) of Camp NaNoWriMo, last week’s discussion topic was about writing. Particularly binge writing. Not everyone is able to sit down every day and bust out a couple hundred words. Some of us spend weeks, even months, away from our novels and I decided to ask discussioners if they had any suggestions about how to fix that serious neglect. Let’s see what they had to say!

Tanja said:

“I think it’s important to accept yourself for who you are, and not compare and contrast yourself. Whatever works for you works.”

Blaise said:

“I’m definitely more prone to binge writing than not, but I binge verb a lot anyway (reading is another common one). I figure that it averages out eventually, and doing what works for you is more important than trying to fit yourself into a mold that’s wrong for you.”

Positivity seems to be the name of the game! I really do love the way writers band together to support each other whether they are binge writers, day-to-day writers, plotters, pantsers, or something in between! Seeing the optimism and wonderful words of my fellow writers, I find myself spurred to write more… Well, once I find my muse. :p
