TBR + Read-A-Long(s)!

Oh hi there! It’s me, Melanie. You know… The book blogger who never seems to tell you guys what I’m reading or like… ever talk about what I’m reading. Or even hints at the fact that I do, in fact, read!

Aka I’m being an anti-social reader.

Better known as the person who just angles my book cover towards you when you ask me what I’m reading.

Yeah. Me! Haha! Well…

That’s gonna change!

(okay. It’s gonna try and change… o.o)

Being a book blogger, I feel like I have an obligation to be like… an idol. No… wait. That’s the wrong one.

*clears throat* Lords and ladies of the realm of Camelot, as a noble book blogger with a generously-sized readership, to uphold my honor, I have a duty to protect the kingdom by fighting against the forces of evi- Nope. Nope. That’s not right either.

*digs around in bag of titles* Oh! Oh, here it is!

Ah-he-he-hem! Readers and booknerds alike, as a casual book blogger who doesn’t get paid to read or write or do any of this jazz (or all that jazz  😉 ), but who does this out of the deep-rooted passion of my sou- Excuse me! Your soul (because I stole it. It was in the fine print when you signed up to read my blog. Mwahahaha!), I feel like I need to be more engaging with my readers and be more interactive with the books that I say I care so much about. So, without further ado and to not make a story too long 😜 I give you….

MY TBR!

(well… for July.)

Awww! Aren’t Umbreon and Pusheen just so adorable! 😍  Well, I think they are, and that’s all that matters, and if you don’t like them then LEAVE! (No really! Don’t leave! Don’t leave me here with these people! 😭 ) Because these two are my little helpers over on my Youtube channel, Hectic Eclectic, and I think it’s high time we bring them over to help out on the blog. What do you say? They’ll fit in great! They seem pretty dystopian/post-apoc, right? Haha! Ha! Ha… 🙄

So, as July will be Fairytale Retelling month for Calendar Girls, I’m currently reading Vassa in the Night by Sarah Porter. I’m about 1/3 of the way in and it’s… um… interesting. *cough* Yes. We’ll go with that.

I also plan to join the Zodiac read-a-long on Twitter in anticipation of the release of Thirteen Rising due to pub August 29th! More about that read-a-long on Romina Russel’s Twitter.

Also!!! Some of you may have seen, (some of you may not have seen), that I’m gonna be hosting a…

Read-A-Long! Wooo!

As a co-hostess of a monthly blogging event, Calendar Girls, I do my best to give the people what they want. After all, events are nothing without the people. And the people requested a read-a-long, which is awesome! I’m excited! (And lost. No. Seriously. Does anyone know where I might find the Holy Grail? 😳)

This will be my first time hosting a read-a-long and I honestly have no idea what I’m doing, but I think that’ll just make it more fun! I’m just wingin’ it! Woo! So, if any of you awesome bloggers wanna join us in reading Roseblood by A. G. Howard in July, do it! We’d love to have you! You can find more details about the read-a-long on our Calendar Girls June Wrap-Up post.

But wait!

What do you get out of the read-a-long? Um… Besides my epic company? 😁Well… You’ll get to meet some other awesome bloggers, get to chat about books, pretend to not be anti-social readers. Aaaand, best of all!!! You’ll get the horrifically aggressive and yet oddly comical rants I continue to disguise as ‘discussions’ five times in one week! Sounds great, right?! 😉

    1. HAhaha! You don’t have to tell me how many books there are. As soon as I get settled into a new apartment, I’m taking a picture of all the books I own, but haven’t read. You may feel better then. 😉

And most definitely you will hear how I feel about these books! 🙂 I think I’ll be updating my review list pretty soon to include these. So you’ll know when you get to hear about them!

Thanks for stopping by! Always wonderful to hear from you, Tanja!

  1. Yaaaaay I’m so happy that you’ll be making these kind of posts! I always have fun writing them and then seeing the comments about what people think of my TBR, or what their own TBRs look like. Also, this post made me laugh out loud quite a few times. Staaahhppp 😛 hahaha

    1. Bahahahaha! I told you I was gonna try and add a bit more personality to my posts. 😉 Looks like I have achieved my goal.

And I’m excited to try these posts in the future. Maybe it’ll help me actually get through my excessive physical TBR, too. It could use some downsizing. 😳
