Lying… to Friends

So… today I… need to talk about something…

*deep breath* I really hate talking about personal matters on my blog because that’s not the kind of content I want to put on here. I want to keep it happy (or ranty), but I really just… need to tell you guys that I might be… a bit messed up for a while… And I thought you deserved an explanation as to why… *sigh*

…here it goes.

Recently… as in like the past week I think it was… I have had some news revealed to me that… well… it leaves a sore spot in my stomach. It just… really makes me sick to even think about this because… it’s about one of my best friends whom I met through blogging, whom I communicate with frequently, whom I Skype with, whom I would consider to be not just a blogging friend, but a real life friend as well.

Because of this… it was… a total blow when the truth came out about her. It was like… she’d been lying to me this whole time and now… I don’t- I don’t even know how to look at her anymore, much less chat with her. It’s like… I keep looking back on our friendship and everything we’ve ever done together and… seeing it all in a new light. A darker light, tainted with ghastly shadows flickering everywhere that chill me to my very core. I just… can’t help but wonder how I didn’t know this about her? There had to have been signs… right?!

How could I have been so blind?!

Okay… I’m… okay… Sorry. This is… really hard for me to talk about because we were so close. But I need to say this… *inhale*

FLAVIA IS NOT A SLYTHERIN!!!!

I’m just DYING OVER HERE! I mean!!! How could she lie to me about this?! We were in Slikerin house together during Blogwarts and we were rockin’ it and we send little snake emojis back and forth to each other to represent our houses. 🐍 I tag her all the time in Slytherin tweets and yet…

SHE’S NOT A SLYTHERIN!!!! OF ALL THE THINGS TO LIE TO ME ABOUT! EVERYONE KNOWS HOW MUCH MY HOUSE MEANS TO ME!!! 😭

So, of course, I did what any person would do in this situation:
I defended my honor!

I confronted my dearest of dear traitorous friends, Flavia, and you know what?! This is what she had to say for herself:

“Society says I’m a Ravenclaw…but I identify as Slytherin. It’s tough you know? To be understood. But in this day and age…it’s important to be yourself. Don’t let society dictate who you are!”

😡 Well… I guess that settles that! 😄 Hahahaha! We’re still the best of friends and the best of co-hosts who also happen to know how to joke around about these kinds of things (and she was just as distraught for a survey to call her not-a-Slytherin as I was.) So, we are just pretending it never happened. 😆
