J.W.’s questions:

What book needs to be turned into a movie?

Oo. That’s a tough one. I actually really hate the YA movie adaptations because they’ve been awful. They never seem to do the books justice. However, assuming they do everything perfectly and don’t screw it up, I would LOVE to have Holly Jenning’s Arena turned into a movie. It’s all about full-immersion VR gaming. It would be EPIC!

Which book universe/world would you most like to visit?

Does the Hunger Games count? :p Hahahaha! I’m just kidding. I need a lot more training before I’m physically fit to compete in that league. Let’s see…. I’d probably want to visit the world of Roar by Cora Carmack. I think the world is absolutely amazing because of all the powerful, destructive, magical storms. What can I say? I like storms. :p

If your life was a book, what genre would it be?

Bahahaha! If my life was a book, it’d be the most boring YA contemporary on the planet. Literally. I’m the girl with no friends, no love interest, with no talent, who sits on the computer and interacts with strangers for hours on end. 😅 Sounds like a fun book, yeah?

Though, if given the choice, I’d totally make my life into a scifi thriller. Lots of action. Lots of sciencey techy stuff. It’d be epic! Bahahaha!

If you could pick any literary character to help you bury a body, who would it be?

Oo. Burying a body, eh? Sounds like my Saturday Night. Hahaha! Jk. Jk. Though, to be honest, not sure I’d pick a literary character. I know plenty of friends IRL who would totally help me bury a body. (I mean, we talk about it on pinterest like all the time! 🤣)

But let us see. If I had to bury a body with a literary character, I would pick… Thomas from Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco. He knows all about dead bodies. Thus, he would be the perfect person to help dissect it for removal and make sure no one found it. 😈

What made you start blogging?

My novels. Legitimately. Being a marketer for your own books, even as a traditionally published author, is really important. As such, I wanted to make sure I had a platform before I was agented, assuming it would help. (It hasn’t yet. 😜) And my blog morphed into more about books than writing. Oh well! I still love it!

Who’s better: heroes or villains?

Seriously? You have to ask this question? Villains! DUUUUUH! All you need to know about this is in my discussion post from last year: Loving the Villain!

Look to your right. What do you see?

My attempt at a bookshelf… Aka a really flimsy, plastic shelf that’s covered in gianormous flowers I use for Instagram, books, too many DVDs, and random packages I’ve kept from bookmail. :p Oh! And an adult coloring book. 😉 Yeah. I’m that cool!

What’s in your pocket right now?

Absolutely nothing. Psh! I don’t keep things in my pockets! You think women’s clothing is designed to actually put things in those?! Ha! (I’m actually wearing sweatpants right now. So I totally have a room, but  I don’t keep things in my pocket while sitting. *shrug*)

What do you think of this whole fidget spinner craze?

Hmm…. Good question. I’ve seen them. I’ve used them. I think they’re interesting and could be utilized for people who do have higher metabolisms and fidget a lot or for those with lower abilities to focus. They were a good idea, but I do believe (like everything) they offer the opportunity for distraction.

Personally, I prefer the fidget cubes to the fidget spinners, but none of the sides really seem to be what I want. 😕 (And I have super small hands. So, I’m usually fumbling with the dang thing than actually using it to fidget. Bahahaha!)

For now, I think I’ll stick to the oh so typical pen and just tap it all over the place until people glare at me. Nothing brings back memories of high school quite the same as a death glare. 😆

In honour of Sorcerer’s Stone turning 20, what house are you?

HA! Because everyone doesn’t already know?! (Although, I think some people may not because they keep telling me I’m like… sweet… and nice… and what not. It’s super weird! They’re totally delusional! 😂) Because I’m a Slytherin! I am deceitful, cunning, vicious, and cruel! BEWARE!!!!

What are you reading now, and what’s next?

At this moment (when I was writing this on July 4th), I was reading Vassa in the Night by Sarah Porter. (Strangest book I think I’ve ever read. No idea what’s going on.) And then I’m on to read Zodiac by Romina Russell and RoseBlood by A. G. Howard!

Angela’s Questions

What is your favorite book ship of all time?

Uh… So… I’m not really big on romance in books. I know, I’m so lame, so unromantic. Psh! Breaking female stereotypes like a boss! 😎 But, I guess if I had to pick a ship, I’d pick Laia and Elias from An Ember in the Ashes. There is a lot of unspoken chemistry between them that I dig, but I love the tension. That, in my opinion, when natural can totally make a relationship tantalizing for a reader.

What is your favorite series?

Uh… Do I have to have finished the series? 😂 So I’m really bad at finishing series because unlike … just about every reader on the planet, it would seem, I don’t have this drive to finish a series or read the next book in the series. I’m just like: “Yup. That was cool. Let’s go learn about this world.” Hahaha! (That’s how I write too, sadly.) But, let’s see. I really like the Delirium series by Lauren Oliver. So dystopian and so good! 😍

What is your favorite standalone?

So… I don’t read a whole lot of standalones. I guess I’m just really bad at picking them up (and I think most standalones tend to be contemporary, but maybe that’s just me.) ANYWAY! The one standalone that I will support until the end of time is Lost Girls by Merrie Destefano! This book is TO DIE FOR! READ IT!

Do you listen to music when you read, if so what kind?

Absolutely not! If I am reading, I do not want my brain to be divided and, because music is so important to me and such a huge part of who I am, I can assure you that it will most certainly divide my brain. Thus, silence must be achieved before the reading can commence. (Kind of like a show at the theater. :p )

Who is the worst villain you’ve ever read?

Worst as in supa evil or worst as in just absolutely pathetic? To be honest, I’m not sure. I don’t really focus much on villains because, in my experience, they aren’t well developed. At least not in the books I’ve read and I always want more from my villains. 😕 So, for now, none. Working on it.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?

GAH! I HATE THIS QUESTION! I want all the superpowers! I want to be mega powerful! Bahahaha! Slytherin. 😎  But I’ve always had a fascination with controlling darkness. I dunno. I think that sounds pretty cool and I’m not big on too much light. So, it’d be nice to just like… dim the room, you dig? 😂

Who is your fictional husband/wife?

Loki. BAHAHAHA! I love me a good villain and you didn’t specify bookish or otherwise. 😉 Loop-hole!

Who is your favorite author?

Oh man. I’m not sure I have a favorite author. I like authors for different reasons and they write different genres and styles so it’s really hard to compare them. Not to mention, each book is different from the last one they wrote. So, it’s hard to say I like an author when they’re writing is always changing. You know?

Who is your book reading BFF?

Uh… none of my friends read books? 😂 Seriously, I wish I was kidding, but my writer friends don’t read. My blogger friends don’t agree with me, and my IRL friends don’t read either. So… no one? hahaha! Why is reading such a solitary activity?! WHY!!!!!!

If you could visit one book setting which setting would it be?

The Hunger Games. BAHAHAHA! Anyone seeing a trend? I am. 😝 I actually just really love the dystopian aspects of that world and the way the arena is designed is just so awesome! Not to mention, I’d be like… a perpetual optimist compared to everyone else in a dystopian world. BAHAHAHA! 😂

What book made you fall in love with reading?

I’ll let you know when I find it. 😂 I know! I know! I’m such a horrible reader and I admit that. The truth is that I’m not really sure any one book made me fall in love with reading because I have been a reader and not been a reader multiple times in my life. I just bounce back and forth, but nothing really specific ever spurs it into being. It’s more… a desire for a world and a story I don’t have IRL.

Nominations!

As I was nominated for this award before, I already nominated people and am, therefore, choosing to not nominate people this time around. Check out my other Sunshine Blogger Award post to see who was nominated!
