IRL (In. Real. Life.)
So… September was a bit of a nightmare for me. I was so crazy busy with classes, lab work, application prep, puppy care, a part-time job, etc, etc. Needless to say, I think I lost some brain cells from stress alone this month. Crazy. But that’s okay! I’m alive. I’m still going. I think that officially qualifies me as a total BAMF! And best part, I have some AMAZING friends who have been willing to listen to my endless rants and venting this month. I don’t know where I would be without them!
But I wanted to give everyone a heads-up for October. While I have TONS of posts planned, I do not have a TON of time thus it could take me up to a week to respond to comments. I’m sorry for this, but I have a HUGE research proposal I’m writing at the moment and it’s due October 23rd. On top of that, I have two exams and an in-class presentation in the first two weeks of October. So, while I am posting (because I pre-scheduled EVERYTHING), I am going to be totally MIA. Sorry in advance, please bear with me. (I’m thinking November will be back to… base line crazy? 😅)
Writing
Because of the reasons listed above I… haven’t touched a novel since early August. It makes me so sad, too, because I had so much love for the story I was working on and now it’s all gone and it’s just collecting dust and I don’t even have a first draft. 😥
But!!! While I had almost no muse for writing my novel (because that’s a process and a half), I did manage to write a short story. 😀 Which may seem odd because I don’t really write short stories, but I felt inspired (and my writing ability was recently verified), so I wrote a brand new short story aaaaand submitted it to an anthology! Eep! We’ll see how that goes! *fingers crossed*
Oh! And you know that ‘verified’ thing I just mentioned. Well, the reason I felt inspired to write a short story is because a short story I wrote back in March actually got selected to be published in an anthology that’s coming out… October 25th! 😀 I’m honestly beyond ecstatic! I kind of was waiting for it to be a joke or something or not mean that much, but the publisher is doing tons of marketing and promo for the anthology and getting us authors super involved. It’s kind of intense, actually! Hahaha! (And I’m trying to fit it all in on top of my insane grad school schedule in October. EEEK!)
That being said, if any bloggers are interested in being part of the book tour in late October, please comment below! I would greatly appreciate anyone who’d like to help with the release or even just promo of the anthology. It would mean the world to me! 😀
Reading
Huh. I’m actually quite shocked by how many books I managed to read this month. Now granted, I skimmed through two of them (garbage books), but the others I actively read. Interesting. But really though… where did I find the time? My brain has been exploding from graduate school and lab and blah and blah and blahdy dah! (<– My brain in a nutshell. *sigh*) But yeah! So I read 5 books this month! Woo! That’s WAY more than I was expecting. I hadn’t felt like I’d read any. Bahahaha!
Blogging
🤣 BAHAHAHAHAHA! I said I was gonna take it easy in September! I’m such an idiot! I forgot about all the blog tours I signed up for and then I got ARCs in the mail that I forgot about! Yeah, I definitely didn’t take it easy with blogging this month and October is going to be even busier! I have soooo many amazing posts planned! You guys are going to love it! (No. That’s not a question. You will love it… or else. 👿)
In case you missed my post yesterday, I’m hosting a month-long guest blogger event in October! Check out more about Hallo-WE-en and get pumped for some absolutely epic supernatural creatures!
Thank you soooo much!

Sorry you had such a stressful month! I hope you’re able to get back to that book between semesters, because it sounds like it has a lot of potential! Hope you have a great October!

Thank you, Krysti! There isn’t really a ‘between semesters’ for me anymore because classes may take a break, but I still have to be in lab 24/7. sigh Such is life. :p
And thank you! I hope you have a wonderful October, as well! 😀

Oh, wow! I didn’t know that. School+full time job+blog does not leave much time to write, but you’ll get there. Hang in there!
Thanks, Melanie! ❤️
