Hi there! It’s officially December! Woo! And with that comes the season of Advent and the preparation for Christmas, which is a joyous time of year. As such, I want to celebrate it with all of you cool cats! To do that, I’ll being doing an Advent Calendar on my blog, which was inspired by the spectacular Solveig, who is having guests post on her blog in the spirit of the season. I’m a little late on that ball. Even so, I’ll be doing posts every day that talk about the wonders of the holiday season.
Additionally, I’ve made a couple lists, which will be posted at the bottom of every Advent Calendar post. One is a list of movies I want to watch before Christmas. The other is a list of activities I want to do before Christmas. As I complete a movie or activity, I’ll cross it off the list.
The holiday season is here! Yay! That means decorating a Christmas tree. It means buying and wrapping presents to place under that gorgeous Christmas tree. It means baking lots of cookies, shaping them into little trees and stars, and lathering them in lots of frosting and sprinkles. It means filling the house with the luscious smells of freshly cooked Christmas dinner. (For me that’s a great big turkey!) It’s also the time to spread holiday cheer to as many people as you can.
And one of the best ways to spread a little holiday cheer is through music! Christmas carols, in my case, are so much fun. Some of my favorite Christmas songs are as follows!
Santa Baby, Sung by Ertha Kitt
White Christmas, Sung by Bing Crosby
Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree, Sung by Brenda Lee
Run Run Rudolph, Sung by Chuck Berry
Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy, Sung by Pentatonix
Or if you like something a little different from the classics, how ’bout a little…

As a Chritmas-holic, I really like your idea of doing an Advent Calender on your blog! I will be following it for sure! For the Christmas songs, I just adore ”Rocking Around the Christmas Tree” and ”Santa Baby.” I’m not sure I like the dubstep Christmas song, though :b Anyway, need I mention my love for ”Home Alone”!? And ”Love Actually” is just nothing less than genius!

Thanks! I got the idea from Solveig, who requested I be part of her Advent Calendar blog posts. ^.^
Haha! Dubstep isn’t for everyone. :p But it’s something that has become a tradition in my household over the last few years while hanging out or decorating. :p
Oh my goodness! Awesome movies! There are so many more to put on the list, too, but I stuck with 12 for the days of Christmas. ^.^

Aw! Thank you so much! I like a lot of the older, original songs. (I spent too much time listening to my parents music growing up. :p) I almost added an Elvis Presley Christmas song, too. Hee hee!

Elvis would have been awesome! I am going to purchase a turntable so I can listen to old vinyls. Love the idea of those times.

OH MY GOSH! My mother owns one and an old crank victrola (the super old school one from like… 1916) and we used to listen to records ALL the time! It was so much fun! ^.^ I bought a couple Elvis 45s when I was at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. So awesome! Definitely something to get. ^.^

Yes! I love Christmas songs. I love the holiday season bc I get to sing aloud in stores w/o people looking at me like I’m a crazy person, which is what they are prone to do the rest of the year.

Haha! Me too! ^.^ I love Christmas songs, but I’m that kid who sings (and dances) to songs in the store no matter what time of year it is. :p My parents learned to not be embarrassed of me at a young age. Hee hee!
